The Michael Daves Bluegrass Mob plays roof-raising string band music, as much in touch with the psychotic, trance-like Applachian mountain fiddling roots as with the notion that the early Bluegrass heroes - Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, and others -- embodied the visceral, iconoclastic essence of rock n' roll before its time. Led by Daves on guitar, mandolin, and tenor vocals, the group features a rotating cast of New York's top traditional musicians.
